In matters of mediation and negotiation, it is often preferable and more effective for the parties to meet face-to-face. Ordinarily, local meetings or in-country travel (Canada or USA) are available options.

During COVID-19, the safety and health of our clients and panelists is of the utmost importance. As such, in-person meetings are:

• Limited to the areas described in the next sections

• Subject to any local or regional restrictions on the size of groups that may gather

• Meetings requiring air travel will be handled via video instead, unless other arrangements are made

Canada

The majority of our panel is located in the Greater Toronto Area (GTA) and in the Windsor-Montreal corridor. In-person meetings are available in the following areas:

• Toronto & GTA including Mississauga, Oakville, Burlington, Pickering, Ajax, Vaughan, Aurora, Newmarket, Bradford

• Waterloo, Kitchener, Cambridge, Guelph

• Ottawa & Capital region

• Montreal region - English language

• Day travel within 905 and 519 area codes including Brampton, Woodstock, London, Caledon, and Orangeville

USA

Our primary service area is in the US Midwest:

• Chicago

• Milwaukee

Mediators and arbitrators may drive up to 150 miles from those centers, depending on availability and prior arrangements.

Online Services

In today’s environment, where travel may not be feasible, or is restricted due to COVID-19, Accord is pleased to offer virtual mediation services using videoconferencing.

• Our platform enables the mediator to engage with each party in private caucus rooms as well as to converse with the entire group of participants

• Mediators in the USA and Canada are available to resolve matters

• Video mediation is a practical option for commercial matters as well as claims that have not yet entered formal legal proceedings

• Video mediation is available for all matters for the duration of COVID restrictions on business, travel, and gatherings
